Here is Part 2 from the compilation I put together
back in the year of 2005. Featured artist are
Renaissance, Rickie Lee Jones and from a Christian
rap artist Righteous B. Most likely,  some of you are going
to say WTH, with the Righteous B song. But there is
something about this song I love. Even though I am not a
fan of rap or very heavy metal, there is a great presence
I get each and every time I listen to this song. Dark & earie like
the feeling I get when I watch those English action mob movies.

Welcome to Part 2, of Tin Pan Alley and the longest production I
have ever made on a podcast. This is one where you will
be part of radio history. Added to the end of this compilation
will be my tribute and goodbye to a Underground Radio
Station Icon of  WBCN FM 104. 1 here in Boston.

I should have split this podcast in two but what is done is done,
and in the near future will post another show with just this
WBCN tribute and added material.

Some of you out there might think ” Boy, this guy is
infatuated with classic WBCN & classic radio “ 

My reply   “YA THINK !!!!”  

I have to be their biggest listener fan for the first 25 years of BCN.
Visited twice with Laquidara in the 80’s.

WBCN tribute begins at the 38 minute mark. Also included is
the last 15 minutes of WBCN’s broadcast.

Also correction needed on the last broadcast of WBCN.
Last show was on August 11th ( not August 18th )
as stated on the podcast - Sorry about that folks.

There is a new documentary film about WBCN being produced, entitled “The American Revolution.”  The film is being produced by the Peabody Award-winning Lichtenstein Creative Media. It chronicles WBCN during the years 1968 and 1975, and examines the station’s role in covering and promoting the profound social, political, and cultural changes of that era.

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF EAGLE LANDING-SPACE:THE FINAL FRONTIER PT.5

I really couldn’t wake up the day I recorded this show- and would have preferred staying in bed.
So I needed something to get me Higher & Higher, maybe something along the lines of 10 Billion Butterfly Sneezes, and that is just what this chapter opens with.
I will have more interesting info about the Moon Landing, including NASA sending Neil Armstrong a secret code word to tell him to slow down.
We’ll have a Harry Nilsson song about moonbeams, done by Steve Forbert, from a tribute album to the late Nilsson called For The Love Of Harry.
Buddy Holly after that, with a strange song from him that sounds much older than it is, also dealing with moonbeams and moondreams.
And as long as I was in that period, a great moon oldie.
Putting these shows together and pulling out Moon songs, I noticed how possessive we are about the Moon.
By that I mean, if I look at the Moon from where I am, it becomes a Brooklyn Moon or a New York Moon.
For someone else, it would be wherever THEY are- say, an Atlanta Moon, or a South Carolina Moon, or a Chicago Moon, or a Moon Over Miami- even though we are all looking at the SAME Moon!
So, we will begin a long set of music I am calling Proprietary Moon Songs.
Checking in with some examples, includes another from the early Sun Records (hey, another Moon song from  Sun!).
We will continue with these Proprietary Moon songs next episode- and I had to limit myself- there are dozens of them.
