who chuckled at the sight of watching shoppers fill their carts with
water and canned goods.  It would never happen here right?

Those people were just paranoid, buying up all the water and making
the lines at the gas stations too long at every mention of a hurricane.

Then along comes Katrina.

This podcast has a few surprises, for instance
a rare interview of The Boss recorded at WBCN
studios back in 1973.  This was well before he broke
out a few years later with the LP “Born To Run”
I also left you a link where you can hear the whole session. 
Also a gem I found from 2004, a tune called
“Bullet With A Target”. Another song by Jackson Browne
he wrote back when was 16 years old. Date is unknown
for this live performance. A few new songs can be here
by Green Day, Gavin DeGraw & The Fray.

Welcome to Part 1 of “Airstream Driver ”

This one features one of my Fav’s from the 90’s “The Sweater Song” &
one by Sonny Landreth who I had the pleasure of seeing
back in January of this year at Narrows Center for the Arts
in Fall River, Mass.  This man was amazing on the guitar.

Also please note that this is my first podcast I am narrating
or you might want to say playing DJ on. Please don’t mind the
occasional hiccup and burp you might hear in the sound quality
of the narration. Been working and learning with a computer
program called Audacity new ways to post my delivery in which I
have to improve on also. You should hear improvements as you listen

I have a lot of work to do.

RockRoll360 #005 - Radio Waves - Pt. 1

What started out to be a 360 Degree mix back in 2005 with a set of songs
about radio, ended up South of the Border, thanks to Cinco de Mayo Week.
Seems the song Mexican Radio, made me flip my Sombrero on and
spun my head into the celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.

A little tidbit of information,
A common misconception in the United States is that Cinco de Mayo is
Mexico’s Independence Day, but actually Mexico’s Independence Day is
September 16, the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.

It seems like this party holiday is growing more & more each and
every year in this country.      I WONDER WHY!

RockRoll360 #003 - The Unexpected Pt. 1

 

Welcome back Podsters - Now that you know what Underground Radio was like back during the late 60’s and passed on to the early 70’s from the previous Podcast.

 

 The influence that radio WBCN Boston  & WNEW in NYC had me changed and loved this type of radio from Top 40 straight to FM Underground in one big giant step. I always wanted to be in radio ( Programing ) but things hasn’t worked out the way I planned. Therefore I really never fulfilled my dreams.

 

For the longest time I always made Cassettes/CD compilations from 1972 on. It always had the mix of old songs with the current new music - In the words of  Mike Pell “The WORLD is our playlist- Enjoy”  Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t mix the old with the new. A great exclamation of this type of radio can be found in detail on Mike Pell’s ROCKOLLECTIONS: THE FALL OF FM RADIO Chapter 6.

 

You gotta listen to The Ballard Of The Sandman. Great stuff !  

 

The closest I landed in radio was when I was a on air as DJ at Franklin Dean Jr. College in Franklin, Mass., one hour a week. Had quite a following I might add.  Who knows? This podcast might lead to bigger & brighter things. ( I can dream can’t I )

 

Again I can never say enough to Unc & Mike   Thanks for sharing the site with me. Hopefully I’ll will make you happy with these shows and hope to continue for a long, long, time.

 

My shows tend to be like the New England weather - If you don’t like a song or show, just wait a minute it will change for the better. Okay already, enough of that and lets get on with the music.
