Longtown Sound
Monday, Dec. 4, 2006
New month, new beginnings, and an ending month to boot. What is it about the word December? Certainly there are many memories that correlate to the month, but other months hold memories as well. Maybe it has to do with love. The greatest single factor in determining our relationship with others. Where there is love, that’s where I want to be. Count me in as a lover.

Rockollections - Post Turkey Leftovers Pt.2

Engineer Ken was daring me to play a couple of Guilty Pleasures I had brought in by Patience & Prudence, a female duo from the mid 50’s. Well hell, there is no such thing, really, as a Guilty Pleasure. If you like a song, you like it. No one sits in judgement. To each his own. I played BOTH hits by them! And I bet you get an “OH WOW!” moment if you remember them. If you have never heard them, well give a listen to a time when Rock & Roll was still new and co-existed with catchy Pop tunes like these. It is the 2nd one that has haunted me for years (ever have that happen to you?), since I first heard it when I was like 3 or 4 years old, LOL!
I finally acquired it only a few years ago, and thought I would share.
Finally, I always aim at a smart audience- bright people who I never talk down to and undoubtedly get what I am trying to do with this show.
Well, a few years ago I had the idea of doing a series of Problem/Solution sets. Wherein the first song would set up the problem, followed by one holding the solution. Simple enough, right? And I had a few examples of what I meant. It was met with yawning disinterest! LOL!
Some I have forgotten now, but we will go out with Gunslingers.
As always, I hope you like what you hear, in this VERY different, really old-fashioned FM free-form episode of Rockollections.
