1 John 11-24
Love One Another
11. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
13. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.21. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Psalm 91 (King James Version)
1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6. Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13.Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

James 5:13-16 (KJV)
13. Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Psalm 10
1. Why, O Lord, do you stand afar off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2. In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the poor; let them be caught in the schemes that they have devised.
3. For the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul, and the one greedy for gain curses and renounces the Lord.
4. In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
5. His ways prosper at all times; your judgments are on high, out of his sight; as for all his foes, he puffs at them.
6. He says in his heart, “I shall not be moved; throughout all generations I shall not meet adversity.”
7. His mouth is filled with cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue are mischief and iniquity.
8. He sits in ambush in the villages; in hiding places he murders the innocent. His eyes stealthily watch for the helpless;
9. he lurks in ambush like a lion in his thicket; he lurks that he may seize the poor; he seizes the poor when he draws him into his net.
10. The helpless are crushed, sink down, and fall by his might.
11. He says in his heart, “God has forgotten, he has hidden his face, he will never see it.”

Interview: Stephen Cochran to Webcast New Year’s Eve Show to Troops
Dec 30, 2009 Longtown Sound, WLSO NEWS

NASHVILLE, TN – Stephen Cochran is no stranger to the battlefield, nor to Country music’s spotlight. The successful Nashville recording artist is an Iraq and Afghanistan War veteran who has been making history by giving back to his fellow vets. New Year’s Eve will be no exception. On New Year’s Eve, at Nashville Center Stage, he will webcast his performance for service men and women around the world and celebrate with fans. Cochran says, “I try to make sure everything I do benefits the most important people in the United States. Even though most aren’t currently in the U.S, this is just another way for us to fight the battle of loneliness that most of our military men and women, as well as their families, go through this time of year.” Cochran will take the stage at 11:00 p.m.
Tickets are $25.00, but with a pre-order and mention of Stephen Cochran’s name, $5.00 will be discounted from the price. The ticket includes dinner, champagne, and a midnight breakfast buffet.
Cochran will perform to bring the new year in with some of his familiar music, as well as, some of his new material he has recently written. Annabelle Bainum, his duet partner and fiance, will join him for the new Christmas song to the troops and their families, “Alone On Christmas” and “Let It Rain,” from his self-titled album. A meet & greet will follow the performance. Cochran believes each fan will make an impact on the webcast event for the troops.
The webcast can be viewed New Years Eve online at:
Nashville Center Stage
514 8th Avenue South
Nashville, TN 37203-4119
More info & pre-orders: 615-218-8625

Pancake Wednesday. Did you happen to see last Wednesday’s New York Times, internet version? It carried video of some old guy giving lessons on the art of flapjackerie. Only, he called it “making pancakes”. He did a great job, but it’s sad. When the world is going to hell in a peach basket, the NYT is stealing my idea for their internet front page.
Okay, it’s not a new idea but sheesh! Oh, well, if that’s my greatest gripe today, big deal! Eat more! You’re gonna need it! Enjoy the crisp bacon and the tunage!
