Mercury recording artist, Gary Nichols, Jason Isbell- formerly with Drive By Truckers, Chris Tompkins and Bo Bice got together at Nashville’s Blue Bird Cafe in February 2007 and in today’s Longtown Sound you’ll hear cuts from that night of song pullin’ and fun.
Lots of amazing sounds were sent to me by various means. Someone is always pokin’ and proddin’ Uncleshag and he likes it - A LOT! Thanks to you all and you know who you are.
Remember, these live, raw cuts are not at all close to studio quality. Each has been equalized and trimmed of as much external noise as possible and the fades are the editors choice. Hopefully you’ll enjoy these new sounds of Nashville’s writers and tomorrow’s stars - as interpreted by the ears of Uncleshag.

Chris Tompkins leads off with his song, “I Hope Heaven’s a Lot Like My Hometown”.

This is super talent at work, folks. Somebody should watch Isbell. Closely.

Then, it’s on to “America’s Voice”, Mr. Bo Bice and “American Blood”.
A Bo Bice song, co-written with Chris Tompkins as he and Bo saw and heard John McCain speaking on the TV news. This is Iraq’s “Some Gave All” and Bo Bice is giving his all in this small production.
The fella could sing an oatmeal commercial and oat futures would rise.

Yep, those ol’ boys from Mussell Shoals are watching TV and learning from it! Watch this space for more music to come as the Days of Our Lives progress.

The rock band, Orange Is In has a new CD and you need to hear a cut. Well, here is an exclusive to Longtown Sound. “Sticky Finger” is the song and the CD is titled Come and Take It. Please do.

Also with a new CD, Transform to Beasts is the alt-country group, Boca Chica, returning to the Longtown sound with “Beasts”.

Finally, Emerson Hart’s new CD, Cigarettes and Gasoline is available today.
There is not a filler cut on the CD, folks, The best single artist release I have heard this year. Dig it.
