ROCKOLLECTIONS: THE CYCLE OF LIFE PT.2

This is the episode where the Cycle Of Life actually begins,
After identifying some songs I owe you, I was thinking that one good reason for finally doing this series is because We May Never Pass This Way Again, and I should do it while I can.
In order to have Life you have to be born.
As promised, Rockollections Will Give Birth.
Even beginning with some pre-natal songs.
Then, like everyone who reads this or listens to the show, we will come into the world.
Included in this chapter is one of my favorite old Buffalo Springfield songs, written by then member Neil Young.
It’s about a newborn child, but uniquely sung from the standpoint of the child.
Just wonderful!
As always, I hope you enjoy this attempt at bringing you our music in a different way.
And when we resume next week, we will take our first baby steps and continue to grow and travel forward along that Cycle Of Life.
A Toast To Life…well, consider the alternative!
Mike

Hi Mike! I’ve been enjoying your ‘Cycle of Life’ shows. Good theme♥
Dear Gr8fulheart,
Thanks, that’s nice to hear.
A lot more coming.
I am not even sure how much more, or how many parts!
At least 4 more chapters, possibly 6.
Life is BIG!
Grow old with me, lol!
Mike
Another nice segment Mike.
Those first two songs were awesome. I’ve heard the Seals and Croft tune, but not the Unborn Lullaby.
Jefferson Starship’s (or Paul Kantner’s) song was very long and trippy. Not bad.
I agree with you 100% on the Buffalo Springfield tune, written by Neil Young. That one’s also new to me and I dig it. I came so close to buying his archives volume 1 but just couldn’t quite pull the trigger, especially since I did lay out 200 bucks for the Beatles Box Set. But I may still do it one day.
And to my surprise, I had no idea “Isn’t She Lovely” was about his daughter. I’ve obviously never listened closeley, ’cause when you do, an early lyric is “less than a minute old”. Perfect song for this segment.
Dear RJ,
That Seals & Crofts song and I go back a long time together.
Unborn Lullaby I came upon by accident, I was listening to the CD somebody sent me and bingo!
A real nice one.
I was actually worried about playing the Starship & Stevie Wonder with their length in the same half hour.
But I couldn’t not play A Child Is Coming when I was talking about being born, and I refuse to alter songs or their length.
It is indeed trippy, lol! But those lyrics were too good.
I LOVE that Springfield song, really amazing he could have such insight so young!
You want it?
I would have spent the money on the Beatles too, The Greatest Band That Ever Existed!
What did you get, the remastered Beatle CD’s? I got them and they sound fabulous.
As for the Stevie Wonder song, don’t sweat it, a lot of people aren’t always aware of what songs are about.
They can’t always pay close attention.
That’s MY job, lol!
And the more you listen to my little Free-Form No-Playlist Radio Show the more you will hear things like that.
Thanks for listening, the comments, and paying attention,
Mike
